| Teachers decide to support PA About two hundred teachers of the Homagama electorate have met recently and decided to support the two PA candidates from the Homagama electorate in the forthcoming general election. In this meeting the clash of candidates for preference votes during the last general election was taken up for discussion and it was agreed unanimously to support both candidates of the PA. The services rendered to the teaching profession by the People's Alliance government was remembered at the meeting. Over 1000 teachers had obtained low interest loans for housing from the National Housing Development Finance Corporation in the area last month.
