U.N.P. candidate for Nuwara Eliya district Naveen Dissanayake addressing a series of election meetings, said that the people who have suffered over the years, both economically and socially should realise the various set-backs they have undergone in the country and particularly in the district of Nuwara Eliya, which has all the agricultural potential and vote for the correct party seeking elections in this important district of Nuwara Eliya.

He said that the time is ripe, that they should not get dismayed or misled, towards electing the correct and potential political party with able leadership to put the country on the correct path.

Mrs. Thilaka Herath, a leading Lawyer of Nuwara Eliya, a former U.N.P. Mayor of the Nuwara Eliya and a fighter for Women's Rights, said that in Sri Lanka and in the Asian countries, the women form the highest percentage for workers women in the respective countries. It was unfortunate that the women were not given their rightful place in the nations.

Therefore, she said that the forthcoming elections will be an important one and she urged the women to exercise their franchise in the correct way.
