Indian foreign affairs minister to in Minsk for talks MINSK, Nov 16 (AFP) - Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, Omar Farooq Abdullah, was to hold talks with Belarussian leaders here Friday to promote bilateral ties, the Belarussian foreign ministry said. Abdullah, who arrived in Minsk Thursday, was due to meet his Belarus counterpart Mikhail Khvostov and Culture Minister Leanid Gulyako to discuss cultural and educational projects, ministry spokesman Pavel Latushko said. Abdullah was also due to meet Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko and parliamentary chairman Vadim Popov, Latushko added. Trade between India and Belarus has topped 54 million dollars this year. Belarus supplies India with fertilizers, radio equipment and fibreglass and imports Indian medicine, tea and coffee. |
