PA leads public opinion survey *PA - 35.2% *UNP - 32.0% *JVP - 14.6%. An islandwide public opinion survey conducted by
Professor S. T. Hettige and Dharmadasa Paranagama of the University of Colombo has shown
that 35.2 per cent of the respondents had preferred the PA. UNP fails to muzzle State media The UNP's plan to paralyse State media organisations, especially Lake House, by
unleashing the terror of the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya (JSS) failed due to the courage and
conviction of the larger number of dedicated employees who refused to bow down to threats.
The Elections Department yesterday finalised all arrangements to hold a free and fair
election on December 5 as political parties ended the campaigns aimed at increasing their
