Balasingham's speech exposes UNP-LTTE link - SU

The Sihala Urumaya Media Unit says the recent comments made by LTTE spokesman Anton Balasingham that the LTTE was seeking a UNP victory on December 5 at an LTTE Heroes Day meeting titled National Uprising Commemoration Day in the British capital was a slap in the face not only to the British Government but also to Sri Lanka's fight against separatist elements.

Sihala Urumaya has described the above comment as being highly prejudiced and questions how Balasingham is able to make such comments on British soil when the LTTE has not only been banned but its assets have also been frozen.

The party also scoffs at the request made by British Prime Minister Tony Blair for all countries to unite in an effort to align themselves with the international alliance against terrorism when the British Government allows people like Balasingham to use their shores for propaganda of the Tamil Tigers who have been proscribed.

The Sihala Urumaya states it is about time that the PA government stepped up its campaign to defeat Prabhakaran's LTTE murderers instead of preparing to hold peace talks or else the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of the country could be seriously threatened as their conspiracy with the UNP is clear.
