UNP heading for victory The United National Party (UNP) was heading for victory in the just
concluded General Election, according to the results announced so far. The
People's Alliance (PA) was placed second and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna
(JVP), third. Ranil appeals for calm by Ariyaratne Ganegoda United National Front Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday appealed to
all his party supporters and the general public to stay calm and be law
abiding citizens without being delirious by the victories of the just
