Attanagalla Magistrate Mahinda Samayawardena on Thursday (03) ordered that the Gampaha District PA MP Sarana Gunawardena be further remanded till January 10.

He was in remand in connection with a shooting incident that took place at Bothale in the Mirigama Police Division on December 2, 2001.

Under the Firearms Ordinance, the Police submitted the relevant report to the court regarding the incident. The report revealed that there was a firearm with the suspect.

Anil Obeysekera PC with Attorneys-at-Law Asoka Manthriratna, Tissa Gunawardena, Amitha Dayananda, Jayantha Bandaranayake and S. Thambugala appeared for the accused.

The case was postponed for January 10.
