AL-HAJ AMM ALAUDEEN ­ J.P.   Beloved husband of late Hajiani Zohora Umma, loving father of Mansoor, Faisal (Attorneyat-Law), Nizam, Jismaniya, Fouziya, Aroosia, Badiriya, Saudoona, Azhar, Sathar, Jalaldeen, Aroos, Shuaib, Hyder, father-in-law of Jamaldeen, Abdeen, Musannif, Rifath, Rafi, late Faiza, Mumtaz Fouziya, Zulaiha, Rabiya, Mumtaz, Sathar, Misriya, Shamila, Hafsa, Enoka, brother of late Thajudeen, Zainul Abdeen and Hajiani Sithy Abdul Hassen. AMBIHAI THAMBIRAJAH   Beloved wife of late Mr Thambirajah, loving mother of Manoharan, Sarojini, Siva Kumar and late Vasanthi, mother-in-law of Vasanthi Wigneshweraraj and Ranjitha, grandmother of Sivasankar, Dr Siva Ramesh, Rasika and Sholendra. Remains will be at Jayaratne Funeral Parlour Borella. Cremation will take place on 12th January at 2.30 p.m. at General Cemetery Borella Hindu Section. Fernando - Retired Teacher, Royal College), father of late Kanishka (Unilevers), Harshaka (CASA), Amith (AGA’s Office, Maharagama), expired. Cremation at 6.00 p.m. on Saturday 12th January at the General Cemetery, Borella. Cortege leaves residence at 4.30 p.m. No.10, Anura Mawatha, Kanatta Road, Talapathpitiya, Nugegoda. 

GUNARATNA ­ MRS PREMA   Beloved wife of late W.M. Gunaratna of Illuke Estate Ganewatte, loving mother of late Lalith (JEDB), Sarath (Australia), Wipula and Mangalika, mother-in-law of Niranjan Perera, Shirani and Chamila, grandmother of Gayathri (Bishophs College), Vipuni, Vimukthi, Shellomy and Shellon, sister of late P.R. Wickramasuriya, late Ari Guruge, Sugathadasa Guruge, Gunaratna Guruge, Daya Guruge and Siri Guruge. MERAKERLI-RHODA FELICIA nee GOONERATNE.   Beloved wife of Per Olav, Ex-wife of Reggie Perera, mother of Roshan Perera (East West Foods), Shiran Perera (Formerly of Film Location), Suranee Upendra, Tor Olav, Lille and Per Gunnar, grandmother of Shamela and Shamindra and of grandchildren in Norway, mother-in-law of Tania (Trans Asia Hotel), Shammi Upendra (Hapugastanne Plantation), Wenche, Knut and Nina, daughter of late Rose and Cyril Gooneratne and sister of late Oswald Sudesh Gooneratne, passed away after a brief illness in Norway on 4th January. Burial will take place in Meraker, Norway on 11th January 2002. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Thomas Church, Kotte at 4.15 p.m. on the 11th January. Dearly beloved husband of Ruksha (Sampath Bank), darling father of Chevinda (S.Thomas’ College) and Guneshi (Methodist College), brother of Ryle (David Pieris Motor Co.), brother-in-law of Mavis, Ranjan, Gotabhaya and Shirani died under tragic circumstances. FONSEKA - WINIFRED (FREEDA) nee Wickramasinghe   Wife of late Titus, beloved mother of Rohan (New Zealand), Lilani (USA), Indraj (New Zealand), Vasantha (Australia) and Chandana (Bank of Ceylon), sister of Dr. Noel Wickramasinghe (UK), Doris Panditharatna and Dr. Quintus Wickramasinghe, mother-in-law of Swarna (New Zealand), Mahendra (USA), Amitha (New Zealand), Siromi (Australia) and Manelee, grandmother of Mariza, Marlon, Mario, Dilini, Damitha, Isura and Vinuri, expired.
