Interior Minister John Amaratunge has appointed a Special Committee to work into the problems and grievances of officers and the other ranks in the Police Service and implement immediate measures to rectify them.

The Committee will look into all complaints pertaining to promotions, salaries, scholarships and other injustices and take necessary remedial action on them.
