Preliminary arrangements have been made by the Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha to construct two suspension bridges across Nilwala ganga, one connecting Maramba and Welihena and Poramba-Godapitiya.

The other bridge will be constructed across the Hulanuda oya connecting Balapathella and Hulandawa.

A sum of Rs. 85 lakhs has been allocated for this by the Southern Development Authority.
