Over 1000 police personnel from Colombo and outstations will be deployed during Independence Day celebrations in Colombo, Colombo DIG Bodhi Liyanage told the 'Daily News' yesterday.

Traffic arangemements on the day prior to the Independence and on the Independence Day will be notified later, the Colombo DIG said.
