A neglected dimension of the ethnic conflict

Pragmatic politicians think that the only way to pacify rural people is to offer whatever jobs they can find within the state sector, without realising that they alienate more youth by doing so as such jobs usually go to party supporters. Many youths also think that the state is the last resort for them and hence their pre-occupation with state power, both in the South as well as in the North.
