Trico London to operate Customs approved Warehouse by Victor Jayanetti, Our London Correspondent Trico International (UK) is the first Sri Lankan shipping agent to aquire the licence to operate a 'Customs Approved Warehouse' facility to operate from its offices in Woodgreen, London. The new facility which will allow customers to clear their imported goods through the Trico warehouse, instead of visiting different ports around England, will enhance the services provided for the retail and wholesale customers equally. Speaking to the 'Daily News' the Director of Trico International (UK), Mrs. Asoka Wijesinghe said "this latest facility will be beneficial not only for Sri Lankans, but for all other importers from around the globe, some of whom are already using Trico services". One further advantage for customers, specially bulk importers is to be able to clear their goods in instalments enabling them to pay the duties in small amounts. Mrs. Wijesinghe said, "Customers will be able to re-ship their cargo to different destinations from the Trico warehouse without much hassle, using our long term storage facilities provided at the large warehouse". Trico is fully equipped with the latest computerised clearing system and the staff are well trained to assist the business customer, she said. The Trico International network has been in the freight forwarding business for over a quarter of a century with several branches in many parts of the world, with the head office in Sri Lanka. |
