Over 80 percent of Sri Lankans feel that the war can be ended and peace brought about
in Sri Lanka through peace talks, a press confidence Index study to gauge public opinion
on the peace process has revealed."This confidence in peace talks has
increased notably from 59.1 percent in May 2001, while confidence in a war
effort in establishing peace has declined,"
by Ranil Wijayapala Parliament meets on March 4 and 5 to debate the Ceasefire Agreement.
This follows the telephone conversation between Prime Minister Ranil
Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse where both agreed
