The unanimous opinion of the PA MPs was that there is a conspiracy behind the Government's decision to postpone the elections in order to bring about undue influence on those local bodies. In view of this situation, the group decided to bring pressure on the Government to postpone postal voting(if postal ballot papers cannot be printed in time)and conduct the Local Government Elections on the prescribed date(March 20) or in the alternative, postpone the Local Government Elections altogether to be held on a single day in respect of all the Local Government bodies. The resolution to this effect was proposed by Colombo District MP A.H.M.Fowzie and seconded by Colombo District MP Chandana Kathriarachchi.
