Prabhakaran hails Norway LTTE leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran, Wednesday hailed the truce
agreement between the Government and the LTTE as a historical achievement
that laid a strong foundation for the peace process and negotiated
political settlement President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in a message on
"International Women's Day" expressed belief that all women
should actively participate in the peace process. Since women have
suffered most in this war, they should play a major role in the peace
process, she said. 'Our responsibility to increase women's participation in all fields' - PM Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in a message to mark International
Women's Day today has promised to increase women's participation and
contribution in the political field which is presently at a very low
