One person was killed and another critically wounded in a stabbing case reported from Wijekalupota in the Puttalam district.

According to Chilaw SSP Upali Ranasinghe, the victims are alleged to have been stabbed by a resident in the area when they entered his house and demanded the polling cards.

The deceased has been identified as M. Sumanapala (45) of Wijekalupota. The other victim, A. David has been hospitalised. One suspect has already been taken into custody. Chilaw police are conducting further investigations.
