John Keells sets up 'Newburn Keells' in UK John Keells Computer Services launched, its new joint venture 'Newburn Keells' in the UK, to offer high quality, rapid software development services. The venture was launched by D. W. Jinadasa, First Secretary, Sri Lanka's High Commission. The new venture with a UK based Newburn Consulting Plc, will address many of the perceived weaknesses of offshore software development by ensuring reliable project delivery through its Swindon office. Newburn Keells marries the two firms expertise in project management and world class software development. Together they have developed a proprietary delivery model that exploits the time differences between the two countries to provide fast, high quality IT solutions that offer extremely good value for money. Project delivery through the UK is a key aspect of a new firm's service. Newburn Consulting has a reputation for delivering excellent service, and central to this success is the relationship it builds with its customers. "This joint venture combines this ethos with the talents and cost efficiency associated with offshore development but removes perceived risk factors of sending projects abroad. Customer interaction, project management and management of the offshore team will be undertaken by our UK base," said Richard Bradley, General Manager of Newburn Keells. The state-of-the-art Sri Lanka's software development facility is combined with Newburn's UK project management expertise to deliver fast, cost effective solutions on time and to budget. Newburn Keells has over 300 expert programmers across a wide range of skills, particularly in the global airline, financial and telecoms markets. The two firms are already working with Emirates, bmi British midland and Lufthansa air lines. John Keells Computer Services is part of John Keells Holdings, the largest conglomerate in Sri Lanka with an annual turnover exceeding US $ 110M.
