'UNP only socialist party in the country'

by Kegalle special correspondent

Rambukkana Pradesheeya Sabha, Chairman G. G. Jayasinghe, at a meeting held at Rambukkana Pradesheeya Sabha auditorium said, that the United National Party always worked for the good and welfare of the masses of this country since its inception, and that the United National Party is the only Socialist Party in this country which always worked to uplift the poor. This can be judged by a proper assessment of the work done by the UNP not only in the recent past but also from the period of Right Hon. D. S. Senanayake up to the times of President Ranasinghe Premadasa and the present Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Chairman Jayasinghe said so at the meeting that was held on taking oaths as Pradesheeya Sabha Chairman before Kegalle district Member of Parliament A. D. Premadasa, recently.

Jayasinghe, the new chairman continuing said that he will continue to work for the UNP throughout his life and that he will serve the Pradesheeya Sabha for the development of his area and that he will sacrifice his whole life to usher in a period of peace and goodwill to all, sans party politics or caste, creed, religion or race.

Kegalle district Member of Parliament A. D. Premadasa and the Secretary of Rambukkana Pradesheeya Sabha N. A. Premananda also spoke.
