The Lake House volleyball team led by K.E.S. Sumanaweera won the championship in the tournament conducted by Fort Police and sponsored by Bank of Ceylon. The tourney which attracted seven teams was played at the Police Courts, Slave Island.

Lake House spikers won all their games, and in the semi-final defeated Police 'C' 15-14, 15-6 to qualify for the final.

The final which was decided on best of five sets saw Lake House beat Fort Police 'A' 15-6, 15-5, 12-15, 15-6 to clinch the championship.

Sampath Kodituwakku played well for winners while for losers it was Weerasinghe who did well. The Police 'A' team was led by Siriwardene.
