After a long spell of dry weather throughout the country, inter monsoonal rain has dispelled the drought that affected farmers especially in Rajarata. This picture of the Rajangana reservoir in Anuradhapura filled with water during the last several weeks would undoubtedly bring a cheer to over 10,400 families who use its waters to cultivate their lands. About 20,000 acres of paddy can be irrigated under the Rajangana reservoir.
