The Government will directly import and distribute wheat floor if current authorised firms fail to do so. This is in order to prevent an unwarranted market shortage, Cooperative Development Minister Abdul Cader warned. Answering to a journalist at Omanthai during a visit to inspect the function of the Cooperative network in the Vanni area, Minister Cader said that he had received several complaints of an artificial shortage of wheat floor in several areas in the country where errant traders used the shortage to exploit the consumers. Meanwhile, Minister Cader told an LTTE Vavuniya leader Sinnappa that the Muslim community in the country has no intention to form a separate state but their sole aim is to continue with their business activities and live in harmony with the other communities. |
