Army in hardfought 24-18 win Sri Lanka Army Sports Club pulled off a hard fought 24 points to 18 win over Sri Lanka Police SC in their Caltex inter club 'A' Division League rugby tournament match played at the Police Park yesterday. The winners collected their points from three tries and three penalties while Police SC responded with a goal, one try and two penalties. However the Policemen led 13-8 at half time with Udaya Dissanayake and Asela Muthumala scoring a try each. Wijeweera converted one try and also put over two penalties. Flanker Karunaratne scored twice for Army SC and Nalin Wijetilleke scored one try. In addition full back T. A. Silva converted three good penalties to seal the game. Dilroy Fernando refereed. (C.D).
