Dettol presents achiever's track record to Susanthika

Susanthika Jayasinghe was feted by Dettol, the brand she relies upon to back her all the way to glory up to Athens Olympics in 2004 when she was presented with an Achiever's Track Record, a giveaway memento that honours her upto-the minute global achievements at the Cricketer's Club Cafe, in Kollupitya recently. After winning two Gold medals at the Asian Athletic Championships it is only right that the world's third fastest woman rated by International Amateur Athletic Federation and Asia's Track Queen who captained the Sri Lanka Team is in the limelight.

When we spoke to the Dettol Category Manager about aligning the world-leader brand Dettol with Susanthika, Rohantha Athukorala was positive about his strategy. "Susanthika is the epitome of vibrancy and good health, and she is a winner all the way" he asserted,

"Dettol has the product range that covers every need in and off the field of sports. We have Anti-bacterial soap for hand wash before meals, Liquid Dettol to clean wounds and to cover the wounds we have Anti-bacterial Plaster all endorsed and recommended by the world health authorities and also by Susanthika who is practically using Dettol every day".

"When we asked her about using Dettol in her younger days when she could not afford it living in the village, her mother replied that she used coffee on the wounds which was an everyday happening. Thank goodness she says that Dettol has come to her rescue" and Susanthika confirmed the story "Dettol is very much a part of my everyday Happenings. Dettol is backing me monetarily when I need it most and Dettol is something I can't do without. Whether I am on the field or at home I need Dettol to maintain my good health' she was clear on that.

"Good health beings with Good Hygiene; Good Hygiene begins with Good habits; Good Habits begin with Dettol" emphasized Athukorala, adding that" Dettol is carrying on a massive Hand wash campaign in schools in association with UNICEF to inculcate enduring good habits in children for the sake of building a healthy nation. Children see Susanthika as their heroine and role model, learn to think local and act global, feel the need to emulate her and grasp a whiff of her indomitable spirit" he concluded.
