Malwana group correspondent The Government is to open another Industrial Zone in conjunction with the Biyagama Free Trade Zone at Keragala in the Dompe electorate. Work on this project will commence early next year said, School Education Minister Suranimala Rajapakse. He was addressing a foundation laying ceremony for a two storied building at Dompe Devi Balika Vidyalaya last Thursday (05) morning. The ministry will set up the building at a cost of Rs. 2.8 million. He said, this trade zone will be in the Danauwa Kanda and Erahadayawatta area where space is available. Once this zone is completed there will be a lot of employment opportunities in the Dompe electorate and surrounding areas. Hence Dompe electorate will benefit and will become prosperous. Rajapakse also said, in addition the closed Pugoda textile mills premises will be utilized for more industrial undertakings. Three countries have already inspected the premises to find out if it is suitable for them to open their projects. The Minister said, computer education is necessary to the present day student. Therefore schools will be provided with computers. Some schools will be made into computer centers. Aesthetic Education Director Thusara Gunathilaka and Dompe Devi Balika Vidyalaya Principal Mrs. A. K. Bandaranayake also spoke. |
