By Ravi Ladduwahetty The Government will shortly establish a United States Dollar fund named
the Sri Lanka Infrastructure Fund to provide long term finances primarily
for infrastructure development. 60,000 jobs in Italy and Korea by Ananda Kannangara The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment will provide nearly 60,000
employment opportunities for Sri Lankans in Italy and Korea before the end
of this year.
A foreign funded feasibility study for the reconstruction of the
Northern Railway line has concluded that re-laying the 266 km track has to
be complemented by large-scale railway-related infrastructure development.
According to the Australian and European funded study, a large number of
railway bridges have to be rebuilt in addition to the construction of
