Cathay Pacific Asia Miles reaches 1.5 m membership With the launch of Asia Miles by Cathay Pacific Airways in February 1999, it has quickly established itself as the leading travel reward program in Asia, becoming the reward program of choice for consumers who aspire to a better lifestyle. Asia Miles offers more opportunities to earn and redeem miles than any other reward programme in Asia. Asia Miles recorded 1.5 million membership worldwide in just over three and half years, a statement from cathay Pacific said. "Asia Miles is continuing to grow rapidly and we expect membership to hit the 2 million mark by the end of 2003", said Ron Mathison, General Manager Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes. He said, "people now realise that they do not have to be a frequent flyer to earn free fights and that there are more ways to earn and redeem miles that just by flying". Asia Miles is Asia's leading Trave Reward Programme with over 150 partners in 13 categories. There are 14 airline partners including Cathay Pacific Airways, American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Asiana Airlines, Aer Lingus, Japan Airlines, Japan Asia Airways, Dragonair, China Eastern Airlines, Swiss, Finnair, Iberia and Lan Chile. There are 12 non-airline partner categories, which include financial services, hotels, telecommunications, internet, car rental, insurance, dining, tour operators, luggage and travel accessories, heath and beauty, florists and wine merchants. Members can earn Asia Miles with any of these partners and redeem them for free flights, upgrades and companion tickets as well as many other exciting rewards.
