Old Thurstanites come out for first time

The Old Thurstanite Cricket Club will make their first appearance in the BCCSL Division III cricket tournament when they take on Kollupitiya playground team on Sunday at the Thurstan College grounds. The Executive Committee of the Old Thurstanites Cricket Club has organised a function at the college lobby at 8.30 a.m. to commomarate this pioneering step to play tournament cricket. Principal of Thurstan College R. D. M. P. Weerathunga who is also the Patron of the club will be the chief guest at this function.

Past Thurstanite cricket captains, cricketers and cricket enthusiastic old boys are cordially invited to attend this function.

The final eleven will be picked from the following players: Manoj Hettiarachchi (captain), Mackenzie Perera, Chamara Liyanage, Tharindu Wickremasingha, Sathya Jayasooriya, Shirosha Gunathilake, Akila Kapuruge, Upul Lokubalasuriya, Manjuka De Silva, Nuwan Kiriwandala, Shehan De Silva, Damith Indika, Thilina Masmulla, Sumithra Warnasuriya, Asela Umayangana, Jeewan Chamikara, Osuka Mahaarachchi. This line up consists of 5 past captains and the present Thurstan captain.
