The Professor said the Dharmarajya System of administration that prevailed in most of the Asian countries then was due to Buddhistic principles". He said the Dharmarajya System was a totally democratic system of rule by the people, of the people, and for the people" Democracy and peace must go to together. He said peace will be long-lasting if the child is taught to identify what to do, and what not to do, from childhood. Balapitiya YMBA President Waidyatilaka in his address wanted journalists to highlight the need to press on Mahanayake Theras to keep their Samanera Bhikkus in alert, on certain anti-Buddhist activities taking place in the country. |
