When Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe got to know about the motion he had informed Chief Government Whip Mahinda Samarasinghe to give a two-hour debate. Though MP Tennakoon was suffering from catarrh he spoke for 10 minutes on the Committee Stage debate on the votes of the Samurdhi Ministry. However, UNP MP Keheliya Rambukwelle will move the same motion today. Meanwhile, an infant's milk bottle was found on the table of the Parliamentary Affairs Minister when the House resumed after the lunch interval yesterday. Drawing the attention of the Speaker, Minister A. H. M. Azwer said there is an infant's milk bottle on his table and requested that the matter be looked into as to how such a bottle came to the Chambers. It has been revealed later that the bottle had been brought by a PA MP to feed his child. |
