PM tells Nation: Negotiations only path to peace

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told the Nation last night that the process of negotiation was the only path to peace and that the government should keep its faith in the peace talks despite pitfalls and thorny issues."Whatever situation may arise, we must not leave the negotiating table. It is time now to embark on the road to a permanent peace," Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said.

Three labour Bills tomorrow

The proposed three labour Bills scheduled to be taken up for debate tomorrow are the most progressive labour reforms in the recent past which will not be harmful to anyone but a blessing for employees and employers, Minister of Employment and Labour Mahinda Samarasinghe told the Daily News yesterday.
