How sea erosion wrecks lives by Florence Wickramage Nearly five hundred more fisher families will lose their dwelling
places if prompt action is not taken by the Coast Conservation Department
to protect the Wennappuwa beach from further sea erosion. Already over
1500 fisher families have lost their lands, houses and belongings to sea
erosion which has rapidly gained ground during the past couple of months.
The villages of Kadawatha, Ulhitiyawa, Kelinjadiya, Galmalpandura and
Katuneriya along the Wennappuwa beach have been the worst affected. Other Stories
