Apollo takes CSE by storm

Shares of Apollo Hospitals Colombo took the Colombo bourse by storm yesterday when it was first traded, accounting for Rs. 327 million, a commanding 84.5% of the total turnover of Rs. 387.4 million, an index of the healthy investment climate prevalent in the country today.

Christmas amnesty for 1,000 prisoners on Monday

Around 1,000 prisoners who won an amnesty on account of Christmas will be released on January 13. This is sequel to the approval granted by the President for the release of two categories of prisoners on a recommendation of Interior and Christian Affairs Minister, John Amaratunga.
