TULF condemns SLFP-JVP efforts to form alliance

The Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) on Saturday condemned the efforts to form an alliance between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) as being unprincipled and opportunistic.The central committee of the Front which met at Vavuniya on January 18 held that if such an alliance is formed, the JVP's well-known views on the continuance of majoritarian hegemony and the rejection of multi-cultural diversity will alienate the SLFP from all segments of Sri Lankan politics that seek the recognition of multi-cultural recognise the reality of Sri Lanka's diversity.
