metric tons of paddy ready for harvest. The chief reason being attributed
to the record yield is the peace process which enabled paddy cultivation
in most areas in the North-East abandoned earlier due to the war.
CID to probe violation of secrecy code The CID was yesterday called to probe a charge that a member of the
Commission to Investigate Bribery and Corruption had met President
Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga with details of an investigation
against Minister S.B. Dissanayake pertaining to Samurdhi funds in
violation of the code of secrecy on all investigations carried out by the

by Matale Police while carrying 98 packets of heroin worth over Rs.
