Handicraft test marketing program

The National Design Centre, a service oriented government organisation functioning under the Ministry of Enterprise Development, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion is organising a Handicraft Test Marketing Program at the Crescat Shopping Complex from January 31 to February 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. with the participation of about 10 handicraft producers in different craft sectors. Handicraft items made of Rush and Reed, Hana, Silver, Handmade paper, Clay, Brass and Lacquer developed with the assistance of the National Design Centre will be on display to access the market demand and will be available for sale during these two days. A special program to mark the importance of the National Day also will be held on February 1 at Crescat. The National Design Centre will hold this test marketing program continuously on a monthly basis to give a boost to the industry. 

Govt should prepare 'crisis plan' in the event of Gulf war - Business community

The business community yesterday stressed the need to prepare a 'crisis plan' to support the economy in the event of a war in the Gulf. They said the country's exports and imports, shipping and investment sectors will be badly affected.
