$60 m ADB grant for six development projects The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will fund sixty million US dollars to the Government of Sri Lanka for six major development projects. The agreements will be signed at the Ministry of Finance on Monday, ADB sources told the Daily News yesterday. Among the projects are Road Sector Development project for which the ADB will grant a loan of US dollars 56.5 million. It will provide a grant of US dollars 900,000 to support infrastructure maintenance to reduce rural poverty under JFPR. The ADB will also fund technical assistance for Passenger Transport Services Improvement, National Highways Development, strengthening the regulatory framework for water supply and sanitation and delivering natural resources and environment services. The ADB will provide US dollars 2.43 million for technical assistance for the four projects, ADB sources said. The agreements will be signed by Charitha Ratwatte, Secretary to the Treasury and John R. Cooney, Country Director of the ADB Sri Lanka Resident Mission. CK |
