Indices fall, Rs. 48.2 m turnover Market indices fell at yesterday's trading on the Colombo Bourse and the ASPI decreased to 795.3 points from 804.8 points the previous day; Milanka Price Index to 1,347.5 points from 1,373.7 points. Market turnover was Rs. 48.2 million down from Rs. 48.74 million the previous day. However, stock Market analysts said that local retail investors were active and chose selected stocks to contribute to the day's turnover. Among the top five gainers were Vanik Incop, Browns, York Arcade, Mahaweli Reach and Overseas Reality. First Ukrainian business mission to Lanka The first Ukrainian business delegation to visit Sri Lanka will be here from February 8 to 11. The delegation is headed by the first Vice President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialist and Entrepreneurs. The delegation will visit the Head Office of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka on February 10 at 4 pm and will conduct one-to-one business meetings with the members companies of the NCCSL. NCCSL launches Professional Convention Unit The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) yesterday launched a Convention Unit to organise various business events at the Ground floor of the NCCSL. Neil Seneviratne, Secretary General of the NCCSL will be the CEO of the new Unit while Maneesha Hindurangala will be the Chief Operating Officer. The first two events organised by the new Unit include Members' Day on April 26 and Intrad 2003 from September 5 to 7. |
