Muslim students have also entered the Jaffna campus this year. From the year 2002 batch, 21 of them have been registered as medical students while Arts Faculty has registered 6 students out of the total 8 from that community. From the year 2002 batch one Sinhala student has registered himself for Agriculture Faculty while 4 selected from 2001 batch for the same faculty have failed to do so uptodate. These Sinhala students find common accommodation in the hostel and the prevailing peaceful atmosphere in Jaffna has greatly contributed to this healthy trend, the official attached to Jaffna campus added.
