South Africa's fate lies in Sri Lanka's hands

PAARL, Monday - New Zealand's stunning nine-wicket win over hosts South Africa on Sunday at Johannesburg has left the home nation depending on other countries for their survival in the 2003 cricket World Cup.The way things stand at the moment, South Africa's fate in the World Cup will be decided by Sri Lanka. What a turn around it has come to in Group B.For South Africa to qualify for the Super Sixes they will have not only to win all their remaining matches against Bangladesh, Canada and Sri Lanka, but also hope that Sri Lanka lose to the West Indies.
