Musharraf offers "friendship" to India after NAM Kashmir row

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (AFP) - Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday struck a conciliatory tone towards Indian leader Atal Behari Vajpayee, a day after enraging him by referring to the "oppressed peoples of Kashmir" in a speech to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).Musharraf's comments prompted Vajpayee to depart from his prepared address to launch a tirade against the Pakistani leader, accusing Islamabad of sponsoring Muslim militants in the disputed Himalayan region.
