DSS oust Petes by two wkts

by Chris Dhambarage

Skipper Kanchana Gunawardena captured 3 for 30 and Yasith Mihiranga hit an unbeaten half century as D. S. Senanayake College edged out St. Peter's College by two wickets in their Elephant Lemonade Cup inter-school knockout limited overs cricket tournament quarter final match played at Barybrooke Place yesterday.

Gunawardena's fine spell of bowling helped D. S. Senanayake restrict the strong Peterite batting line up for a modest 168 runs in 48.5 overs. Yasith Mihiranga who was later named man of the match then added 69 for the second wicket with Kanchana Gunawardena and took his side to 169 for 8 in 47.3 overs.
