Chine Taipei East tromce Timor 3-0 Chinese Taipei routed East Timor 3 goals to nil in the second game of the Asian cup 2004 preliminary qualifying round game yesterday at Sugathadasa stadium under lights. Chinese Taipei went ahead in the tenth minute of the game when H.C. Ming found the net. Twenty three minutes later C.J. Ming's goal extended the lead for Chinese Taipei. The lemons were taken with Taipei in the lead 2 - 0 Early part of the second session saw once again H.C. ming fire his second and his teams third goal. This kept Taipei far ahead of Timorians 3-0. Timorians failed to penetrate the strong defence of Taipei to score. Nesar Ibrahim from Bangladesh controlled the game while Dashu Gyontshering of Batan acted as match commissioner. Mariam Murugiah of Singapore was the referees inspector. On Tuesday Sri Lanka will take on Chinese Taipei at the same venue at 6.30 p.m. This game will be the decider to find the qualifier to more in to second round fixed for October where UAE, Turkistan and Syria are involved. In this game Sri Lanka is favoured as they play on their home soil Lankans who performed well during the past few months under the leadership of Dudley stein will be sure do well in this game with the intention of qualifying for the next round (BP) |
