Thirteenth Kotte battle ends in draw

The Battle of Sri Jayawardenapura cricket match between St. John's College Nugegoda and Ananda Sastralaya Kotte ended in a draw at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Ananda Sastralaya in reply to St. John's total of 207 runs, went on to take a close first innings lead of 17 runs before declaring at 224 for 9. Roshan Laksiri hit a top score of 55 and received good support from Saranga Perera (45), Supun Perera (34) and S. Devinda (29). St. John's batting the second time reached 70 for 2 at close.

St. John's: 207 and 70 for 2 (Akila Perera 29, Lahiru Hasintha 34). 

Ananda Sastralaya: 224 for 9 (Roshan Laksiri 55, Saranga Perera 45, Supun Perera 34, S. Devinda 29, L. Vishvanath 3 for 19)

Sri Sumangala by 15 runs

A fine knock of 84 runs from Sudesh Dushantha helped Sri Sumangala MV Panadura register a close 15 runs win over their traditional rivals Moratu MV in their 10th annual limited overs cricket encounter played at the De Soysa Stadium, Moratuwa yesterday.

Sri Sumangala MV: 202 in 47 overs (S. Dushantha 84, S. Umayanga 43, J. Nilaweera 19, S. Priyankara 3 for 20, A. Bandara 2 for 36, A. Mendis 2 for 22).

Moratu MV: 187 in 47.1 overs (R. Gayashan 62, A. Sameera 27, A. Bandara 28, N. Fonseka 24 n.o, L. Hemappriya 2 for 30, U. K. Fernando 2 for 29).
