Former Miss World injured while making film

NEW DELHI, April 2 (AFP) - Former Miss World and popular Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai was seriously injured in a motor accident Wednesday while she was making a film, the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency reported.

Rai was rushed to a hospital in Bombay from the film location in the town of Trimbakeshwar in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.

PTI quoted doctors as saying she was in a stable condition. The nature of her injuries and details of the accident were not immediately available.

The 30-year-old actress won the Miss World title in 1994 and has had strong box office showings for her Bollywood films.
