New SLT Bill format

Sri Lanka Telecom, one of the premier telecommunication service providers in the country will launch its new customised bill format soon.

New Area Manager for Qatar Airways

Danny Schepers has been appointed Qatar Airways Area Manager for Sri Lanka, an airline press release stated.

On joining Qatar Airways in March 2003, Schepers was appointed Area Manager for Sri Lanka, with a mandate to reinforce Qatar Airways presence in the market. "Its a challenging opportunity for me to step into an airline which is in full expansion, contrary to the general downsizing that the Airline industry is going through," he said.

Schepers said that subsequent to the introduction of their eighth and ninth flight this summer, Qatar Airways goal was to offer two daily connections from Colombo to Doha in the near future.

He said that with the rapid expansion of the Qatar Airways network, they could now offer passengers not only a wide range of Middle East connections but also more European destinations with better transit times through Doha. "This will definitely attract the time sensitive business and leisure traveller," said Schepers.

Schepers, a Belgian national, who graduated in '81 in Marketing and Sales before joining the Airline business in 1990, was employed with the largest Belgian tour operator Sunair.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker was in Sri Lanka early this year to seek ways to provide more travel opportunities to Sri Lankans.

The Outward Bound Professional training develops capacities of mind, body and spirit to better understand one's responsibilities in the broad schemes of things.

It helps participants to broaden their perception of the scope of their duties and responsibilities and equip them with knowledge and skills to exercise their managerial duties effectively.

Safety is an integral part of Outward Bound programs and is exemplified by the words and actions of the resource panel.

The participants who are exposed to outdoor activities and management games develop leadership skills, improve their team spirit and inter personal effectiveness. It is a form of learning that brings people together from one experience to another, from one way of life to another. The participants discover their hidden talents and overcome their self imposed limits and develop confidence to meet challenging situations.
