"Initially we will be importing cylinders filled with LP gas obtained from Petronas (Petroleum National Bhd) of Malaysia until the storage and bottling plant will be set up," he said. He said the company would appoint dealers islandwide giving them the opportunity to decide whether to issue empty cylinders free or not according to their relationship with the customers. The delegation during their visit also met Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake. A senior Ministry official told the Daily News that the Minister requested the delegation to conduct test marketing in selected areas and to explore a consumer friendly way of marketing gas in Sri Lanka. "The Government's main intention is to provide an opportunity for consumers to buy domestic gas at the lowest possible price according to world gas prices.
