CCC School of Cricket under 12 team tour Bangalore The Under 12 Cricketers of CCC School of Cricket who are touring Bangalore, India are taking part in the All - India "Crown Event" Challenge Trophy Tournament from 21st May to June 2nd. The prestigious tournament conducted annually by the Imtiaz Ahamed Cricket Academy, Bangalore, is the 17th in the series. This is the first time that an invitation has been extended to a Sri Lankan team. Maitland Crescent School, which have had several tours to Bangalore to play Imthiaz Ahamed Academy, is very pleased to participate in this tournament. Around 36 teams are expected to participate and will be from major cities of India like Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Hydrabad, etc. etc. CCC School was invited to send U-15 and U-17 teams as well, but due to the present Inter-School's Tournament of SLSCA, they are unable to send the senior teams. Nelson Mendis, Chief Coach of the School, said that the Junior team on tour is quite a young side with the average age being 11yrs & 6 months. They are a well - knit team with a few promising players and is expected to do well. Primesh Dassanayake - Wicket Keeper and Top order batsman from Nalanda College, leads the team, while his Deputy will be Sajith Ruberu, a very promising all-rounder from M.D.H. Jayawardene Vidyalaya, Battaramulla. Others comprising the team are Rashane Saverimuttly (St. Peters' College), Kavinda De Silva (Royal College), Kasun Dissanayake (Wesley), Chandula Ratnayake (Royal College), Keshan Dissanayake (Royal College), Sachith and Harith Dias (Twin brothers from Thurstan) Chamika Panagoda (Nalanda), Sameera Seneviratna (D.S. Senanayake Vidyalaya), Sayuru De Silva (Nalanda) Anuja Fernando (St. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia), Heshan Kumarasiri (Lyceum International School), Milantha Wanniarachchi (D.S. Senanayake Vidyalaya) Chetha Senadheera (Royal), Kushan Balasuriya (Royal), Tharindu Thalarambage (St. Peters) and Chanaka Madushanka (Kingston Int' School).
