Financial mismanagement in some CPC Govt. Departments - Chief Minister

Sigiriya group correspondent

Financial Management of several departments in the Central Provincial Council is found to be faulty.

An Audit Committee has begun scrutinising past records of accounts - said the Chief Minister of Central Provincial Council Wasantha Aluvihare.

He said that he would take appropriate action if any one is found to be involved in any act of neglect, or misappropriation.

The Chief Minister said further utilization of funds has not been carried out properly.

"Allocations have gone back to the Treasury because no supervision had been done," Aluvihare Said. He said a Central Monitoring Committee will be set up whose duty is to look into these projects to avoid such happenings in the future.
