FFSL gets big grant from Japanese Govt The Football Federation of Sri Lanka is in luck's way. The FFSL which is conducting its affairs to the satisfaction of the authorities here and abroad will receives a big grant from the Japanese Government. This grant comes the way of the FFSL thanks to the initiative of Manilal Fernando, Chairman FFSL Management Committee, Kawabuchi Saburo, President of the Japan Football Federation and the Sri Lankan Ambassador in Japan Karunatilleke Amunugama. The trio worked towards scoring this well deserved goal for the game here. Also helping in the securing of this assistance are the Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka, Seiichiro Otsuka and the First Secretary Hideald Mafsuo. Jungi Ogura, Vice President, Japan Football Association and Executive Committee member FIFA and a close associate of Manilal Fernando in a note to the FFSL has expressed his delight at the assistance granted and says that it should help develop the game and the sound fostering of youth in Sri Lanka and also enhance the opportunities to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between citizens of Sri Lanka and Japan. Ogura further believes that the passion and sincere attitude of our friends in Sri Lanka that has resulted in the granting of this assistance by the Japanese Government. Ogura also goes on to congratulate Manilal Fernando and the FFSL and also wish them further prosperity. He also conveys his heartfelt gratitude to the Japanese Government officials for granting this fruitful assistance to the FFSL. (BP) |
